Pacific Northwest Animal Welfare Project has a wonderful program we run hand in hand with SCRAPS and at our county shelter called the Very Unique Best Friends Program.

This programs helps put attention and emphasis on the "more difficult to adopt" animals that come through SCRAPS, such as....blind....deaf...3 legged....senior....and yes, even black (Black animals tend to not stand out at the shelter as a light fur animal would)....The adoption fee for these animals is paid for by Pacific Northwest Animal Welfare Project and SCRAPS, the adopter pays for their new best friend's license. This program also helps pay for limited vet care for animals not only in our program but also animals in the shelter not in our program, that might need vet care help.....
The VUBF Program is made possible ONLY by your generous donations. Please help us to help these wonderful animals. In order to continue this very successful and very needed program we need your help.....

You can donate directly to our program at SCRAPS www.spokanecounty.org/scraps  (a) click on "Make a Donation" at the bottom of the homepage (b) then select "Please direct my donations to(c) click on "PNWAWP" in the pull down box.
 
If you would like you can also mail in or drop off your donation to SCRAPS. Be sure to note "For PNWAWP VUBF Program" on your check and be sure to tell the front counter person that your donation is to go to the PNWAWP Very Unique Best Friend Program. Your donation directly saves lives!! The more you give the more animals you help! 100% of your donation goes to these Very Unique Animals!! Woof and Meow!! Sidney 2951 is a seven year old lab/St. Bernard mix. She is very puppy like and love squeaky toys.
Mia 3247 is a senior. She is a little shy at first. Loves to snuggle under her bedding.
Wotan II Von Saafer is an eight year old German Wirehair Pointer. Wotan is well mannered. Very sweet dog.
Beau 3102 an elder boy 10 - 15 years old. Only has three teeth. Loves petting. In need of help with his grooming. Sweet boy.
